Churches Together for Families

Affiliated Churches and Organisations

Welcome

Churches Together for Families is a 'family' of denominational representatives and family organisations, which has grown over time. Although it has a programme of work of its own, its member organisations and churches work directly with families. For example, Marriage Care offers counselling and support to couples and families; the National Association of Child Contact Centres offers 'neutral ground' where children of separated families can enjoy contact with one (or both) parents. We exist to share what different churches and organisations are doing and to attempt to encourage churches to work together.

Two projects we have worked on together are in marriage preparation and being a family friendly church. In this web site you will find ideas, stories and resources for your church to help you become more family friendly plus a link to other site where you can find resources on marriage preparation.

The Resources section contains information, questionnaires, case studies and plans prepared by The Churches Together for Families team to help you.

The Links section contains Contact details for other useful organisations, a list of useful publications and a massive selection of web sites covering all aspects of church work.

Take a look around and let us know what you think.

Vision for the Furture

Results from the recent CTF/FLAME conference 'Vision for the Future'

80 people drawn from very different church communities and family projects came together for a weekend to explore how churches can work with families and all their diversity - see report.

Duncan Dormor gave a helpful lecture on cohabitation.

Delegates spent much of the weekend considering case studies and devising strategies for a range of challenging situations, including families suffering domestic violence, step families and prisoners' families. The results of their work can be downloaded from here

Some of the groups are continuing to meet and we will add any material that they produce.
